Black Economic Council – 2009 Supplier Diversity Conference

On Thursday, August 27th the Black Economic Council will hold their first annual Supplier Diversity Conference. The Black Economic Council (BEC) is a community advocacy organization based in Oakland, CA with the purpose of increasing financial literacy and procurement opportunities for Black owned and Minority businesses in corporate and public sector contracts.

On Thursday, August 27th the Black Economic Council will hold their first annual Supplier Diversity Conference at the Oakland Marriott City Center.  The Black Economic Council (BEC) is a community advocacy organization based in Oakland, CA with the purpose of increasing financial literacy and procurement opportunities for Black owned and Minority businesses in corporate and public sector contracts.

Nuance Marketing provides strategic marketing and communications support to the BEC to support their outreach and programming impacting their cause.  The conference is connecting the Oakland Minority Business community with some of the largest corporations in the country.  Sponsors and corporate participants at the conference include; Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, AT&T, CalPERS, Public Utilities Commission of California, Sempra Energy, Union Bank of California, FDIC, Chapman College, US Bank, Comerica, Citi, Verizon, Pacific Gas & Electric.

This one day conference combines a morning of panel discussions with some of the nations leading corporations committed to increasing business with diverse suppliers with an afternoon of round table matchmaking for suppliers.
